The eyebrow, lip, and nostril are other popular spots for pierced jewelry as well as the navel. Pierced jewelry can be found on other places of the body such as the nipples and male and female genitals.

Body jewelry is as widely available as earrings nowadays. Pierced body jewelry is available in a variety of sizes as well as styles. The most common pierced body jewelry is the barbell. It is available is various gauges of thickness and the balls can be different sizes as well. When determining the gauge that you need for the bar the higher the number the thinner it is.

Proper care of any type of body piercing is necessary. Clean with antibacterial soap once or twice a day. Anymore or less can be detrimental to the healing process. A sea salt and distilled water soak can speed up the healing process. Generally, it is a ΒΌ teaspoon of sea salt to 8oz of warm water. More sea salt can be irritating to the area. It is best to avoid any pools, lakes, hot tubs; etc until piercing is fully healed. Bodies of water harbor bacteria that can cause irritation and infection to your piercing. There is clear acrylic pierced jewelry available for when you have to hide your piercings. These are necessary for keeping the piercing stretched to accept a thicker gauge bar.
